A Roman Toga

Here i am, making a fool of myself, I'm dressed in a toga. This is what was worn back in Rome during Caesar's time. I feel like this is representing both Brutus and Caesar because they both wore the white togas and it made them stand out from the other people, but then again it could just be because they were more "noble" and powerful, so therefore, they would be wearing the better togas. I think that the white togas meant you were wealthy, so maybe that's why they wore them, but i may be wrong.

P.S. i hope that Courtney and Scott enjoy this, they were my inspiration for this silly picture. :)

  1. I think you're the first one to mention social status in an explanation. Awesome idea. You're idea was very original as well, and I agree with what you said. The "nobler," wore the "fancier," clothing.

  2. I think you're right about the white togas, you look like a noble Roman in this picture. Questioning the social status was a great idea. Really nice job.

  3. I agree with both Matt and Jessica. You saw this from a point of view many others wouldn't have seen. I actually think you are right. The wealthy probably had the lighter fabrics because they could afford to keep them clean! Haha, at least that's what I think. P.S. Cute picture! Good Job :)

  5. That makes me wonder, is that really why togas are white, and not another color? Nice Job.

  10. Haha nice picture and good idea it probably was like that poorer people probably just used rags for there clothes back then while the rich wore more elite, higher, and fancier togas, robes, etc.

  14. Very regal and elegant looking. I like how you incorporated and involved yourself into the whole ceasar-esque atmosphere by wearing one yourself and getting into the position.

  17. Togas were could be seen everywhere while we were studying Julius Ceasar, and I agree they were very important to Roman culture back then. Good job representing this in your picture and explanation, (and pose) XD
